Who we are
Willow & Darcie's Bedazzle Business is a small handmade business selling and personalising bedazzled items through willowanddarcie.co.uk. Willow and Darcie create the products; a parent/guardian is responsible for the website, customer communications, orders and payments, and is the point of contact for anything in this policy.
You can contact us about privacy at info@willowanddarcie.co.uk.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:
- your name
- your email address
- your phone number
- your billing and/or delivery address
- order details, including items, options and any notes you add
- messages you send through our contact or custom request forms
- custom order information, such as colours, themes, initials, wording and your ideas
- photographs or reference images you choose to send us
- payment-related information processed through an approved payment provider (see below)
- technical information such as browser or device details, where this is collected by the services that host and run the website
Please only send us information we actually need for your order, and avoid including sensitive personal details in messages or images.
Why we use your information
We use the information above to:
- process and fulfil your order
- reply to your enquiries
- discuss, quote for and manage custom orders
- arrange delivery or local collection
- provide customer service, including issues with an order
- help prevent fraud and keep the website secure
- meet legal, tax and accounting obligations that apply to us
- improve the website and our products, where we are allowed to do so
Our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law we need a lawful basis for using your information. In most cases this will be:
- Contract — where we need your details to take, make and deliver an order you have asked for.
- Legitimate interests — to reply to enquiries, keep records of orders, protect the website and run a small business responsibly.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep records, for example for tax or accounting purposes.
- Consent — for anything optional, such as non-essential cookies or (if we ever offer it) marketing messages. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We do share it where it is necessary to run the website and complete your order — for example with:
- the providers who host and run this website
- our email provider, so we can reply to you
- a payment provider, when payments are taken online
- a delivery or postal provider, where your order is being sent to you
We may also share information where we are legally required to do so. These providers only receive what they need for their part of the process.
Payments
Where payments are taken online, they are handled by an external payment provider. Full card numbers and similar payment credentials are entered with that provider and are not stored directly by this website. We may receive confirmation information such as whether a payment succeeded, the amount, and a reference.
To confirm later: the specific payment provider(s) will be named here once online payments are connected and live.
Delivery providers
If your order is being posted, the name and address you provide will be shared with the postal or courier service used to send it. Where you choose local collection, no delivery provider is involved.
Cookies
The website uses cookies and similar technology. Non-essential cookies are only used in line with the choices you make in our cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it. Enquiries and custom order discussions that don't lead to an order are deleted once they are no longer relevant. Order and payment records are kept for as long as required for accounting, tax and consumer-rights purposes, and then deleted or securely disposed of.
To confirm later: exact retention periods can be listed here once record keeping arrangements are settled.
Your privacy rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete information, where we don't need to keep it
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use your information
- ask for your information in a portable format, where that applies
- withdraw consent where we relied on your consent
To use any of these rights, email info@willowanddarcie.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we have handled your information you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
